By accessing or using TransferU™ ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
TransferU provides course equivalency search tools, transfer planning features, and connection features between students and educational institutions. Results are provided for informational purposes only and do not constitute official academic advising, a guarantee of credit transfer, or binding commitments by any institution.
Always verify equivalency results directly with your institution's registrar or academic advisor before making enrollment decisions.
Course catalog data used by TransferU is sourced from publicly available university websites, official articulation agreements, and academic course catalogs. TransferU does not claim ownership of this data and presents it for informational purposes only. Always verify course equivalencies directly with your institution's registrar.
TransferU does not represent or act on behalf of any academic institution. Institutional connections and course equivalency results facilitated through our platform do not constitute official institutional communications or binding academic decisions.
TransferU does not guarantee admission, enrollment, or transfer credit outcomes.
3. User Accounts
- You must provide accurate and complete information
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
- One account per individual person
- You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree NOT to:
- Misrepresent your academic credentials or institutional affiliation
- Scrape, crawl, or automate requests to our platform
- Attempt to access other users' accounts or data
- Use the platform for commercial purposes without written permission
- Upload false or misleading transcript information
- Harass or abuse other users or institutions on the platform
5. Intellectual Property
TransferU's matching technology, platform design, and software are protected under U.S. Patent Pending (Serial No. 63/903,470). TransferU™ is a trademark of TransferU. Course catalog data is sourced from publicly available university catalogs. Unauthorized reproduction or use of our technology is prohibited.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. TransferU does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of course equivalency results. Credit transfer decisions are made solely by academic institutions.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, TransferU shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service, including but not limited to credit transfer decisions made by institutions based on our results.
8. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless TransferU and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
9.5. Business Transfers
TransferU reserves the right to transfer these Terms and your account in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. You will be notified of any such transfer and may close your account if you do not agree to the transfer.
10. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide 14 days notice of material changes via email. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance.
